Reached Mt Fuji 5th Station!

Climbers all ready…

Dogs spotted on Mt Fuji?! Japs really love Mt. Fuji and their dogs!

Standing AMSL 2,305 meters… Yeah!

Vance did a counter check on the altitude with his Casio Protrek as usual…

How can vending machines be missing from Mt. Fuji…

Shops in Mt. Fuji 5th station selling climbing poles…
So if you are in for climbing,
you don’t really need to bring them up the mountain…

We were famished by the time we reached 5th station…
From a far distance, we smelled something burning…. And it’s BBQ!

Best part is the trip… Enjoyment of freshly BBQ-ed hot squid and corns!

After several attempts of getting clear views of the peak,
we gave up as it was really too cloudy…
At that very moment, we thought we were in Gentings (Due to the heavy mist)!
We proceeded to the Mt. Fuji 5th Station Postal Agency to see what we could grab…

Grabbed a postcard and we’re sending this home!
Not forgetting the signature Mt. Fuji chop on the postcard…

Hope this reaches home before we do :)
And It did indeed!

Just before we left, we finally managed to get a clear look of Mt. Fuji’s peak…
Yeah! Clouds and poor visibility often block the view of Mount Fuji.
There’s a saying that you should consider yourself lucky
if you get a clear view of the mountain. We did and we were so lucky!

Back to Kawaguchiko station and here’s a picture of this magnificent mountain…
Mt. Fuji is 3,776 meters tall and is Japan's highest mountain.
It’s a dormant volcano, which most recently erupted in 1708.
It stands on the border between Yamanashi and
Shizuoka prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days.

While waiting for the hotel pickup,
took a quick pose with the dummy train
in front of the Fuji-Kawaguchiko Tourist Information Centre…

Arrival at Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato… here’s our room with private onsen facing Mt. Fuji!

More of the room…

Hidden Futon…

Noticed the extra toilet roll that’s beautifully wrapped?
Packaging is really highly valued…

That’s the private onsen located within our room... Fantastic!

Of course that comes with a price… We paid JPY22,000 (S$285) per person
(With Breakfast and Dinner) per night!
