Leaving for Tokyo in the afternoon later but before that, we visited Yagizaki Park for a day view of Lake Kawaguchi.

Lake Kawaguchi is the most easily accessible of the Fuji Five Lakes as it is well connected with central Tokyo by both trains and direct buses. Between Mid-June to late July, visitors can see beautiful purple lavenders at Yagisaki Park and Oishi Park during the Kawaguchiko Herb Festival.

We were simply wrapped in the fragrance of the lavender when we visited the Yagisaki Park opposite our hotel. Weather was fantastic as it was cooling and sunny. We were simply amazed by the blooming flowers and the number of dogs that came up the mountain with their owners. There’s great weather, scenery, flowers and most importantly, there’s so many kawaii dogs! Can we live here please?

Vance: Hmmm, am I suppose to farm for a living here!?!?

Location: Japan - Mt. Fuji

View of Mt. Fuji from our room…

The restaurant “Hanamizuki” facing Lake Kawaguchi,
one of the Five Lakes located at the foot of Mt. Fuji...

The lake seems so peaceful…

Great view of the lake while having a lavish breakfast…

Breath-taking view with great breakfast… What more can we asked for?

Japanese version of Ah-Kun Kaya boiled eggs? It actually tasted good…

After breakfast, we proceeded to Central Park Kawaguchiko 河口湖八木崎公園
(The park that we went last night) to catch a glimpse of Lavender during daytime…

Simply incredible! This place looks so different from the night before…

The Kawaguchiko Herb Festival is a signature event of Kawaguchiko
held in the beginning of summer (June and July).

Other flowers are also blooming…

The sight and fragrances of lavender flowers transform the
lakeshore into a place of true inspiration.
Vance: Yessss Inspriation to... visit the.... toilet.... ahhhhhh... :P

Doggy sighted in Herb Festival Kawaguchiko…

Pose pose with Lavender and Mu-Niu Pooh…

Vance’s turn….

BTW, Kawaguchiko Herb Festival is held annually in both
Yagizaki Park and Oishi Park (We went to the former)…

Immersed in a sea of Lavender… Felt so blissful…

Vance with Mu-Niu Pooh again…

Suggested walking trail… Eerr… though it’s cooling,
I think it’s going to tiring…

Lilies blooming as well…

Lake Kawaguchi view from the park…

It would be so relaxing to sit by the lake and do nothing…
it’s a pity we didn’t have time for that…

Artist performing in the park…
Vance: He's actually pretty good! His music (some Kitaro gene) blends with the flowers!

And that’s the artist’s dog!

More pictures...

Information on Lavender…

Another dog spotted!

More flowers...

I lost count on the number of dogs spotted…
