That’s because lots of retail shops are located on the 2nd or 3rd floor…
Hence, they have to do these to attract the attention of shoppers…

Birthday Poohs…

Shop selling crazy costumes for Cosplay…

Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street) is the symbol of Harajuku and
birthplace of many of Japan's fashion trends.
It’s a narrow, roughly 400 meter long street lined by shops,
boutiques, cafes and fast food outlets targeting Tokyo's teenagers.

The JR Harajuku Station…

Back to Shinjuku Station and saw this Shinkansen made of plants…

Shinjuku bans smoking on all public streets since August 2005.
Smokers will have to smoke in designated areas and this is one of them.
The smokers here seemed to have a common understanding here,
that is to face the road while smoking…

On our way to Takashimaya Times Square…

Donut craze in Shinjuku…
Vance: They have security guards (2 somemore!) to control the "Doughnuts" buying crowd!

In front of Takashimaya Times Square…

The objective : Disney Store located within Takashimaya Times Square

So that we can buy Disneyland and Disneysea passes for our visit to Disneyland the next day...

Pooh’s 2009 calendar… Bringing this home!

This is actually an interactive toy dog…
It will shake hand and sit down upon your command… Smart!

Dinner time! We had some problems trying to reconcile the wordings on
the pictures vs the wordings on the vending machine…
Hhmm… Maybe they can use numbers instead of characters…
That would be easier…

Ramen! Yummy!

Notice there’s only a few seats around?
It’s actually for customers to stand, eat and go…
hence food in such shops are slightly cheaper…

Vending machines for flowers?! *faints*
